The short answer: GirlfriendGPT does not publish an app on the App Store or Google Play. Its own download page tells you to skip both stores and install from the website instead, as a browser-installed web app or an Android APK you sideload. The apps you will find on Apple and Google under the name Girlfriend GPT are published by WhatsGoodApps, a different company from the NextDay AI entities that run gptgirlfriend.online, and they charge in a completely different way. Everything on this page was read first-hand on 21 September 2026 from GirlfriendGPT's own download page, its interface code, Apple's US App Store listing and Google Play.

This is a short article with one job: make sure that if you are about to install something called Girlfriend GPT, you know whose software it is and how it is going to charge you. That sounds like a small distinction. It is worth about $30 and a set of app permissions.

Is there a GirlfriendGPT app on the App Store?

Not one that GirlfriendGPT publishes. The company's own download page, titled "GPTGirlfriend App - Download - iOS - Android", walks you through installing a progressive web app from your browser and offers an Android APK for direct installation. Its own words are "Skip the iOS App Store or Android Play Store", followed by an instruction to download from the website.

Search either store anyway and you will find results, which is where the confusion starts. Apple's US store lists an app called Girlfriend GPT. Google Play lists one too. We checked both on 21 September 2026. The Apple listing gives the seller as WHATSGOODAPPS LLC and the copyright line as Whatsgoodapps LLC. The Play listing sits under the developer WhatsGood. Neither is NextDay AI, and NextDay AI is the company whose name appears on gptgirlfriend.online and on the charge that reaches your card.

Whether that overlap is deliberate is not something we can tell you. What we can tell you is what each one costs, because the two payment models are nothing alike.

The three things called Girlfriend GPT

Read the third column again, because it is the part that decides what you spend. The website sells you a subscription whose price you cannot see until you have signed up. The store app sells you individual items, one of which is a single outfit photo for $3.99. Those are different products aimed at the same search.

What the real GirlfriendGPT app actually is

A progressive web app. That is a website your browser installs to your home screen so it opens in its own window without an address bar. It behaves like an app, it updates itself, and it takes up almost no storage, because it is still the website.

The install steps live in GirlfriendGPT's own interface. On iPhone it is the standard Safari route: tap the share icon, scroll down, then choose Add to Home Screen. On Android you can do the same from Chrome, or take the APK the site offers and install it directly.

Sideloading an APK is the part to think about rather than skim. An APK installed from a website has not been through Google's review, it will not update through the Play Store, and the file you get is only as trustworthy as the site serving it. That is a reasonable risk to take with a publisher you have identified and an unreasonable one with a mirror site you found through a search result. If you go that route, take the file from gptgirlfriend.online itself and nowhere else, because APK mirror sites hosting files under this name are numerous and none of them are the publisher.

What does the GirlfriendGPT app cost?

On the website, nobody outside the product can tell you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. GirlfriendGPT publishes no public pricing page. We requested /pricing, /plans, /membership, /premium and /upgrade on gptgirlfriend.online on 21 September 2026 and all five returned 404, alongside an invented control path that returned 404 as well. That control matters: it is how we know the server is not simply answering 404 to every request, which would make the result meaningless. The plan table loads from the site's own API once you are signed in.

What we can describe is the shape of the bill, read from the product's own interface strings:

• Three paid tiers, named Premium, Deluxe and Elite. Deluxe is presented as Premium plus uncensored chat. Elite is presented as Deluxe plus priority access and exclusives, tied to a separate Elite chat model.
• A coin balance on top of the tier, spent by images, video and voice messages as you use them. The subscription is not the whole bill.
• An annual-billing discount shown as the headline monthly price. The plan selector carries a footnote saying the monthly figure applies when billed annually, and that paying month to month costs the standard monthly price instead.
• A live pricing experiment flag in the code, so there is no guarantee two visitors see the same plan layout on the same day.
• Memory on the paid side. The interface carries an upgrade prompt reading, word for word, "Upgrade to Elite or Deluxe to prevent your character from losing memory".

Why the charge says NDAI.CHAT and not GirlfriendGPT

Because NextDay AI bills under its initials. GirlfriendGPT's own checkout text states it plainly: your purchase will appear as NDAI.CHAT on your statement. The same company runs three sibling products, Spicychat, PixelChat and AdventureGPT, and publishes a billing support page precisely because the descriptor sends people searching.

The practical consequence is the one people find out about six weeks later. A web subscription never passes through Apple or Google, so it will not appear in your iPhone or Android subscriptions list, and neither store can cancel it or refund it for you. What to check before you install any AI companion app

The GirlfriendGPT situation is not unusual in this category, which is why it is worth having a habit rather than a one-off answer.

• Read the seller line, not the app name. On Apple it is in the Information block at the bottom of the listing; on Play it is the developer link under the title. If it does not match the company on the website you were sent from, they are different products.
• Check how it charges before you install. The App Store and Play both list in-app purchases on the listing page. A list of one-off unlocks and a single subscription line mean very different monthly totals.
• Find the price before you sign up, not after. If a service will not show you a number until your card is on file, that is information about the service.
• Know the billing descriptor. It is usually buried in the checkout text. Note it down, because it is the only thing you will have to go on later.
• Think about what you are handing over. These signups take a real email and a real card, and an 18+ chat account is not something most people want attached to their name in a data broker's file. If yours is already spread across sites you have forgotten about, it can be scrubbed from the brokers that resell it.
