Joi AI Pricing, Neurons and Premium Plus

The short answer: Joi AI sells two paid tiers, Premium and Premium Plus, billed monthly, quarterly or yearly, and it does not print a dollar price for either one on any page you can see before you sign up. What it does price publicly is its second currency. Joi's own paywall says "100 Neuron price is around 2 USD", and its Terms of Service, last updated 4 June 2026, say one romantic message costs 4 Neurons to read, a photo up to 120 and a video up to 1,900. That is roughly 8 cents, $2.40 and $38 at Joi's own rate. Premium comes with 1,000 to 1,500 coins a month depending on the billing period, Premium Plus with 2,300 to 3,500, and voice mode is listed only on Plus.

Everything below was read on 29 September 2026 from Joi's own material over a US connection: the Terms of Service, the Refund Policy (last updated March 2025), the help centre, and the text Joi's checkout loads for its subscription, Neuron and cancellation screens. We did not take a single number from a review site. Joi AI pricing, tier by tier

Joi's checkout loads two sets of plan cards. Here is what each one lists, in Joi's own words where it matters.

The terms also allow a semi-annual billing period that does not appear in these cards.

Two details are worth knowing before you pick a period. First, the help centre says that on a yearly plan "your monthly benefits reset every month", and that "unused benefits roll over to the next month", so a slow month is not wasted. Second, the coin gap between periods is small on Premium (1,000 to 1,500) and larger on Plus (2,300 to 3,500). If you already know you want Plus, the yearly card gives you 52 percent more coins a month than the monthly one.

How much Joi AI costs in dollars, and why nobody can tell you

There is no public Joi price list. Joi's sitemap lists 181 pages and none is a pricing page. Asking for joi.com/pricing returns exactly the same not-found page as an address we made up as a control. The subscription screen is a template that says "{VALUE} per month", "{VALUE} per 3 months" and "{VALUE} per year", and the number is filled in for you after you have an account.

Section 3.6 of the terms explains why a single figure would mislead you anyway: Premium, Bot Subscription and Neuron prices "may vary based on region, length of subscription, selected Virtual friend, character, or bot, available promotions, and other factors." The checkout also has a promo layer: a timer that reads "Deal ends in", a line that reads "Billed {promoPrice} first period. Billed {price} after", and a separate "Upgrade price". The first charge and the second charge are not always the same.

So any exact monthly price you read for Joi was taken from one account, in one region, on one day, possibly during a promotion. We would rather tell you that plainly than print a number we could not check. The one dollar figure Joi does publish is the Neuron rate, and that turns out to be the more useful one.

What Neurons cost, converted to dollars

Neurons are Joi's currency for what the subscription leaves out. The terms say they pay for "services which are not included in Subscription or Bot Subscriptions, including but not limited to romantic, erotic or sexually explicit messages, visual content, or adult-themed scenarios." Joi's own paywall puts the rate at around $2 per 100, which is about two cents a Neuron.

Now the part no pricing page mentions. Joi's own Neuron screen says something different from its terms: "View unlimited romantic messages for free with Premium, or 2 Neurons each without." So the terms say 4 Neurons with no Premium exemption, and the checkout says 2 Neurons and free on Premium. Both are Joi's documents and both are live. If the checkout is right, a Premium subscriber reads romantic messages at no extra cost and the $120 row above applies only to Basic users at half the rate. If the terms are right, it applies to everyone.

We cannot tell you which one your account follows, so here is the check that settles it in two minutes: note your Neuron balance, read a handful of romantic messages, and look at the balance again. Do that before you buy a pack or commit to a yearly plan.

Neuron packs themselves get cheaper per unit as they get bigger ("The more you buy the cheaper the Neurons"), Premium Plus takes 10 percent off every pack, and Joi's help centre says unspent Neurons bought by mistake can be refunded once.

Bot Subscriptions, the cost under the cost

Joi also sells subscriptions to individual characters, which the terms call Bot Subscriptions. They are sold on top of Premium and depend on it: "You must maintain an active Premium subscription in order to access and use any Bot Subscription." If your Premium lapses, the Bot Subscription stays attached to your account but you cannot use it, and the terms say the gap "does not entitle you to a refund, credit, compensation, or extension."

The trap is on the way out. The terms say cancelling, expiring or downgrading Premium "does not automatically cancel any Bot Subscription." Someone who cancels Premium and walks away can keep paying for a character they can no longer open. Cancel every Bot Subscription separately.

Joi AI free trial, cancellation and refunds

Joi offers a 7-day trial of Premium. Its own account screen describes what happens next: "Starting from {date}, you will be charged {price}. This recurring monthly payment will continue until you cancel it." Plans renew "for the same term until canceled at least 24 hours before the billing date."

To cancel, the Refund Policy gives the path: Settings in your profile, then My Subscriptions, choose the subscription, and follow the steps. The button reads "Cancel renewal". You keep Premium until the end of the period. Expect a retention offer; the cancel screen can offer a discount off your next period before it lets you go.

Refunds are narrow. The help centre says subscriptions "are generally non-refundable once activated." The Refund Policy allows them for proven card fraud, for a one-time mistaken Neuron purchase (full if unspent, partial if partly spent), and when Joi ends your subscription for reasons other than a rule violation. It adds that "used or non-used neurons within the current subscription month will not be refunded" when you cancel. Requests go to support by email, with a first reply promised within 72 hours and a 14-day window from purchase.

Read one clause before you consider a chargeback: "should you chargeback any transactions billed to your account, we may be required to disclose any and/or all private communications sent/received by you through JOI AI in order to prove the validity of the charges billed to your account." For a companion app, that is a real cost. Write to support first.

What the Joi AI charge looks like on your statement

Joi's documents disagree here too. Section 3.2 of the terms says "the charge will appear on your bank statement as joi.com." Joi's own subscription screen says "You'll see Novi Limited on your bank statement." Novi Limited is the Cyprus company the terms name as the provider of the service, and the Neuron screen adds "No adult transaction in your bank statement." Search for both names. If you are trying to count how many months you have actually paid, it is quicker to convert the PDF card statements into rows you can filter than to scroll through each month looking for two different merchant names.

The terms also say Premium can be paid by card, Google Pay or Apple Pay, or cryptocurrency "where available". Searching Apple's US App Store for Joi on 29 September 2026 returned one app named JOI, from a different developer, and nothing published by Novi Limited, so on iPhone Joi is a website purchase rather than an in-app one.

Is Joi AI worth it, and what to use instead

Joi AI pricing questions

How much is Joi AI a month?

Joi does not publish it. The checkout fills in the monthly, quarterly and yearly prices after you have an account, and its terms say prices vary by region, plan length, character and promotion. What Joi does publish is the Neuron rate, around $2 per 100, which is spent on top of the subscription.

What is Joi AI Premium Plus?

The higher of Joi's two paid tiers. It lists 2,300 to 3,500 coins a month against Premium's 1,000 to 1,500, and adds voice mode, sending her your photos, early access to new characters, character customisation and 10 percent off every Neuron pack. Premium does not list voice mode at all.

How much does a message cost on Joi AI?

Joi's terms say one romantic message costs 4 Neurons to read, about 8 cents at Joi's own rate. Its checkout says romantic messages are free with Premium and 2 Neurons each without. The two documents disagree, so check your balance before and after reading a few messages.

Does Joi AI have a free trial?

Yes, a 7-day Premium trial that turns into a recurring monthly charge unless you cancel before it ends. There is also a Basic tier with limited access, which Joi's terms say it can withdraw at its discretion.
