Candy AI subscription plans and what each one costs

$13.99 if you pay monthly. $8.99 a month if you pay $26.97 up front for three months. $3.99 a month if you pay $47.88 up front for a year. Those are the three plan cards on candy.ai/subscriptions as we read them on 14 September 2026.

The discount badges are roughly honest. The annual card says 70 percent off and the real saving against monthly billing is 71.5 percent. The quarterly card says 35 percent off and the real figure is 35.7 percent. Where the badges mislead is in what they imply about commitment: the $3.99 is not a monthly charge at all, it is a single $47.88 charge that renews a year later for the same amount.

One detail makes the ladder unusually tidy. Moving from monthly to quarterly billing saves exactly $60.00 a year, and moving from quarterly to annual saves exactly another $60.00. So the annual plan is $120.00 a year cheaper than paying month to month for the same Premium subscription.

All three plans unlock the same Premium benefits list on the page: creating your own AI girlfriends, generating 18+ images and videos, the Live Action experience, unlimited text messages and 100 tokens a month. The billing period changes the price, not the product.

The weekly and two-week billing lines cost the most

The plan cards on Candy AI's subscriptions page show three plans. The page itself contains five. Below the three plan cards, in the payment step, the page's markup carries two more lines: payment every 2 weeks billed as $9.79, and weekly payment billed as $5.60. Each carries the same note as the others, that it renews automatically for the same price and term.

On a checkout screen, $5.60 is the smallest number anywhere on the page, which is exactly why it is worth doing the arithmetic. A weekly charge renews 52 times a year. At $5.60 that is $291.20. The two-week line renews 26 times, which is $254.54.

Put those next to the plan cards. Weekly billing costs $123.32 a year more than simply paying monthly, and $243.32 more than the annual plan, for an identical Premium subscription. It is the most expensive way to buy the product by a wide margin, while displaying the least alarming number.

Weekly billing is not a trick in itself. If you genuinely want Premium for two or three weeks and then intend to leave, $5.60 or $11.20 is a fair price for that. The problem is the renewal you forget. We found the same pattern on PolyBuzz, whose weekly plan costs more over a year than the tier above it billed monthly, and it is the single most common way people in this category end up paying far more than they meant to.

We could not establish from the page when Candy AI offers these two shorter lines to a given visitor. They are present in the page we were served, and we report them for that reason. If your checkout shows them, you now know what they cost over a year.

Candy AI tokens: what 100 a month covers and what happens when they run out

Every paid Candy AI plan includes unlimited text chat plus 100 tokens a month. Text messages do not spend tokens. Almost everything else does.

Candy AI's help centre lists what tokens pay for: image generation, creating a custom AI, listening to a voice message, voice calls, which it labels beta, unlocking My Private Content packs on a character's profile, and turning a generated image into a video. Its Terms of Service describe the monthly allowance as the amount disclosed at checkout, generally 100 per month.

When you run out, you are not cut off from chatting. A help article updated on 2 September 2026 says the chat stays accessible without extra tokens, and that you will be prompted to buy more for the premium features. Top-ups are sold at candy.ai/tokens, which redirected our logged-out request to the sign-in page, so we cannot print pack prices first-hand and we are not going to repeat figures from review sites.

The timing of the allowance catches people out. Tokens arrive on the day of the month you first subscribed, not on the first of the month. Annual subscribers are charged once but still receive their 100 tokens monthly, on that same day, according to Candy AI's article on what paid users get.

The practical reading: if you mainly text, the plan price is your whole bill. If images, video or voice are the reason you are subscribing, 100 tokens is a starting balance, and the plan price understates what you will spend.

Candy AI contradicts itself on what happens to your tokens when you cancel

This is the most useful thing on the page if you are thinking of cancelling, and we have not seen it written up anywhere.

Candy AI's Terms of Service, revision date 17 August 2026, section 10.2, say that at the end of your billing period after cancelling, any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable. It adds that tokens will not carry over or be refunded after the subscription ends, and that tokens from a cancelled subscription cannot be carried over to a new one.

Candy AI's help centre says the opposite. An article updated on 25 August 2026, eight days after that terms revision, is titled "Do I lose my content and tokens after I cancel my subscription and my account goes back to the Free service?" Its answer is that canceling does not delete your tokens, that your balance stays on your account on the Free service, and that you can use it again once you become a Premium subscriber. It adds that the balance will not be displayed while you are on Free.

Both documents are live, both are Candy AI's own, and they cannot both be true. We are not going to tell you which one Candy AI applies in practice, because we cannot observe that. What we can tell you is what a careful buyer does with the conflict: spend your tokens before the billing period ends. If the help article is right you lose nothing by doing so. If the terms are right, you have avoided losing the balance. And the Terms of Service is the contract you agree to at checkout.

The content itself is not at risk from cancelling. Both documents agree that your chats, images and characters remain as long as the account exists. Only deleting the account removes them.

Can I get a refund from Candy AI?

Only inside a narrow window, and Candy AI publishes the rules plainly, which is more than several review sites give it credit for.

The Terms of Service, section 10.4.1, give you 24 hours after payment to request a refund on a subscription. After 24 hours, no refund. Inside 24 hours, the request is still denied if you have used more than 20 tokens. Refunds are not given for technical issues on your side, and only subscriptions bought by card can be refunded. Token packs follow a stricter version: 24 hours, and denied if you have used the tokens at all.

A help article updated on 7 September 2026 adds the part people miss. Cancelling does not trigger a refund. It stops future renewals and leaves Premium running to the end of the period. If you want money back you have to contact support separately, within that same 24 hours.

Two consequences follow. Twenty tokens is one fifth of a month's allowance, so a few generated images on day one can end your refund eligibility before the 24 hours are up. And if a refund is granted, section 10.2 says the subscription is cancelled immediately and remaining tokens are revoked at that moment. The same happens the moment a chargeback is filed.

The terms give EU and UK residents a 14-day right of withdrawal. That section does not apply to buyers in the United States, where the 24-hour rule is what you get.

What you get free, and what Premium Plus adds

Candy AI's homepage invites you to start slow with the free trial. Its help centre is more specific about what that is. A free account, per an article updated on 5 August 2026, can send up to 5 messages in chat, across all characters combined, create one custom AI character and generate one image. The Terms of Service describe the same limit as generally 5 messages.

Five messages is enough to see a character's opening line and a couple of replies. It is not enough to learn whether the writing holds up over an evening, whether it remembers what you said, or how quickly 100 tokens disappear. Treat the free tier as a look at the interface, and treat the first paid period as the real trial. If that is the plan, the refund rules above are the reason not to generate much in the first 24 hours until you are sure.

Above Premium there is a second tier. A help article updated on 28 August 2026 describes Premium Plus as the newest subscription tier, with 330 tokens a month instead of 100, 20 memory slots, 5 cloned chats, user personas, chat customisation, live audio, early access to new characters three days before standard release, and 10 percent bonus tokens on top-ups for quarterly and yearly plans.

What we could not find is the price. Neither of our two reads of the logged-out subscriptions page showed a Premium Plus price, and the help article does not state one. We are not going to guess it. If memory slots matter to you, note that Premium Plus lists 20 of them, which is a fixed ceiling rather than open-ended memory.

Billing details to know before you pay

A few facts from Candy AI's own pages decide how the subscription behaves after checkout.

The charge appears on your statement as EverAI, not Candy. The operator is EverAI Limited, registered in Malta under number C107181, per the Terms of Service. If you are scanning a card statement for the charge, that is the name to look for.

There is no native app. A help article updated on 19 June 2026 says Candy AI does not offer an iOS or Android app and runs as a progressive web app you add to your home screen. That means no Apple or Google subscription and no app store refund route: you are billed directly by EverAI, on EverAI's terms.

Payment methods include credit and debit cards, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer, per the help centre. Refunds, as above, apply only to card purchases.

The terms let you designate a backup payment method, and if a renewal charge to your default method fails, you authorise Candy AI to charge the backup for the same amount. Separately, a help article updated on 26 August 2026 says you cannot remove your only payment method while a subscription is active.

Prices can rise. The terms say subscription prices are subject to increases at Candy AI's discretion, communicated to you in advance of any autorenewal at the higher price. Plan changes, up or down, take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Is Candy AI worth the money?

It depends almost entirely on what you are buying it for, and the pricing tells you which buyer Candy AI is built for.

If you want generated 18+ images and video, a large character library and the option to build your own characters, Candy AI on the annual plan is cheap for what it offers. $47.88 a year is less than most companion apps charge for three months, and you should not let our being a competitor talk you out of that. For that buyer, the things to manage are the token balance and the refund window, not the subscription price.

If you mostly want conversation with one companion, the maths changes. The text chat is unlimited on any paid plan, but the product is priced and designed around generating media, and 100 tokens a month is the part of the bill that grows. The five-message free tier also gives you very little to judge the conversation by before paying.

That second buyer is who we built Gals.ai for, so here are our numbers in full for comparison. Hello is $9 a month billed yearly, or $12 month to month. Sweetheart is $19 a month billed yearly, or $24 month to month, and adds voice notes. Soulmate is $39 a month billed yearly, or $49 month to month, and adds voice calls. There are no tokens and no coins, and messages are never counted. We are more expensive than Candy AI's annual plan and we do not generate explicit images. What you get is one girlfriend who texts you first and remembers what you told her months ago.

For prices, open candy.ai/subscriptions. The three plan cards show the monthly, quarterly and annual amounts. The weekly and two-week lines are in the payment step of the same page. If you script it rather than read it, the plan cards carry their billed amounts in data attributes, which is how we confirmed $47.88, $26.97 and $13.99 on both reads.

For the rules, open candy.ai/terms-of-service and look for the revision date at the top, then sections 9 and 10. One warning if you probe Candy AI's site with made-up paths: almost any address you invent, including /pricing and /tos, quietly redirects to the homepage and returns a normal page, so a successful response proves nothing. The terms page is at the full /terms-of-service path and is one of the few that does not redirect.

For the help articles, Candy AI's help centre is hosted on Zendesk under the EverAI name. Every article carries an updated date, and the dates quoted on this page are those. We pulled them through the help centre's public article API, and an invented article number correctly returned not found, so the ones we quote are real.
