Cancel Kindroid Subscription: Refunds and Add-ons
To cancel Kindroid, cancel where you paid: Settings, then Billing, on kindroid.ai, or your Apple or Google Play subscriptions. Cancel MAX and Ultra before the standard plan, because Kindroid's help centre says the wrong order leaves an add-on billing. Refunds are rare, and Kindroid says it may ban users who dispute charges.

The short answer: To cancel a Kindroid subscription, cancel where you paid. If you subscribed on kindroid.ai, open Settings, then Billing. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel in your Apple or Google Play subscription settings, because deleting the app stops nothing. If you also pay for the Ultra or MAX add-on, cancel from the top down: MAX, then Ultra, then the standard plan. Kindroid's own help centre says that cancelling a lower tier first can leave you paying for a higher one. Refunds are rare, and Kindroid says it may permanently ban users who dispute charges with their bank.

How do I cancel my Kindroid subscription?
Start by working out where you subscribed, because that decides where the cancel control lives. Kindroid ties a subscription to your login, the email shown at the top of the settings menu, not to the phone or browser you bought it on. So the app on your phone can show a subscription that is actually billed on the web, and the reverse.
If you subscribed on the web
- Log in at kindroid.ai with the email that pays for the subscription.
- Open Settings.
- Open Billing.
- Cancel the subscription there, and cancel any add-on first if you have one (see the next section).
This is the route the help centre gives for web subscriptions, and the Terms of Use say the same thing in capital letters: if you do not want to keep being charged, you must cancel through account settings, then Billing.
If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad
Apple bills you, so Kindroid cannot cancel it for you. Open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Kindroid and tap Cancel Subscription.
If you subscribed on Android
Google bills you. Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose Kindroid and tap Cancel subscription.
Whichever route applies, the Terms of Use say you keep using the subscription until the end of the term you already paid for, it does not renew after that, and you are not eligible for a prorated refund of the rest of the period.
Cancel Kindroid Ultra and MAX in the right order
This is the part most cancellation guides miss, and it can cost you a month at the highest price Kindroid charges.
Ultra and MAX are not separate plans. Kindroid's help centre describes each as a monthly add-on stacked on the level below it: Ultra requires the standard subscription, and MAX requires both the standard subscription and Ultra. Each one is billed on its own, so each one has to be cancelled on its own. The same article spells out what happens when they are cancelled out of order.

The money involved is not small. With a monthly standard plan, Kindroid's own totals are $44.98 a month in the app with Ultra and $113.97 with MAX, or $38.98 and $98.97 on the web. How to cancel the Kindroid free trial
The same way as a paid subscription, and before the three days are up.
Kindroid's help centre describes the trial plainly. New free users can take a 3-day premium trial with full subscriber features. It needs a payment method on file and converts into a paid subscription automatically if you do not cancel within the trial period. On the web, Kindroid also asks for a verified mobile number before it will start a trial, to prevent trial abuse.
Two details make the trial easier to manage than most. Kindroid says it sends an email reminder one day before the trial converts. And the trial only gives you 150,000 of the one million monthly audio credits up front, with the remaining 850,000 added when it converts, so heavy voice use during the trial runs out faster than a paid month would.
Our advice: set your own reminder for day two rather than relying on the email. If you took the trial in the iPhone app, note that Apple says cancelling during a free trial can end your access straight away, so cancel early only if you are sure you are done.
Can I get a refund from Kindroid?
Rarely, and Kindroid is direct about it.

In practice that gives you two routes. For an app subscription, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or from Google Play through your order history, and accept that the store decides. For a web subscription, ask Kindroid directly through its support, knowing the policy is discretionary.
Think carefully before going to your bank. A chargeback on a charge you did authorize is exactly what Kindroid says can get an account banned, and a ban takes every Kindroid on the account with it, along with everything they remember. Keep a dispute for a charge you genuinely did not authorize.
What happens to your Kindroids, slots and credits when you cancel
Less than people fear, with one catch.
- Your Kindroids stay. The in-app purchases article says you keep all your existing Kindroids when you unsubscribe.
- Paid slots go quiet. You cannot create new Kindroids or group chats, even with slots you already bought, until you subscribe again. The slots themselves are a permanent one-off purchase and come back when you do.
- Chat drops to the free tier. That means unlimited messages on Lite, Kindroid's smaller model, basic long-term memory recall without Cascaded Memory, one selfie request every two hours and 5,000 lifetime audio characters, about five minutes.
- Early adopter pricing is fragile. Kindroid says a legacy early adopter subscription cannot switch billing interval without losing the discounted rate, and that a subscription which lapses through an out-of-date payment method will not be reinstated at the same rate.
If you are thinking of deleting the account rather than cancelling, cancel the billing first. The Terms of Use say that when you delete your account Kindroid may stop storing and displaying your content, but that content you shared publicly can stay available to other users and may not be completely removable from Kindroid's records.
Kindroid is still charging me after I cancelled
Almost always one of four things, and all four follow from how Kindroid bills.
- An add-on is still active. Look for the yellow icon next to Billing, and cancel MAX or Ultra separately.
- You have two subscriptions on two platforms. Kindroid does not let you move a running subscription between the web, iOS and Android, so people who resubscribe on a new phone sometimes end up paying twice. Cancel each one where it was bought.
- A different email. The subscription belongs to the login shown at the top of the settings menu. Check every email you might have signed up with.
- The charge was already processed. Cancelling stops the next renewal, not one that has already gone through.
Web subscribers can pay by card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay or Cash App, so the charge you are chasing may not be on the card you expect. If you are going back through several months of PDF card statements to find every renewal before contacting support, it is quicker to convert those PDF statements into a searchable file than to read them page by page.
Should you switch plans instead of cancelling?
If the price is the problem rather than the product, there are two cheaper ways to keep Kindroid.
The first is billing on the web. Kindroid's help centre lists $13.99 a month and $139.99 a year on the web against $15.99 and $159.99 in the app, and says the web is cheaper because processing fees are lower than app store fees. The catch is that you cannot move a running app subscription to the web. You have to let it run out and then subscribe again on kindroid.ai.
The second is a longer interval. The help centre says you can change between monthly, three-month and yearly plans on the web immediately with a prorated charge, and on iOS from the next billing date. On Android you cannot change interval at all and must wait for the subscription to end before resubscribing.
And if you are paying for Ultra or MAX, dropping back to the standard plan alone saves far more than any interval change: $28.99 a month in the app for Ultra, or $97.98 a month for both add-ons together.
If you are leaving Kindroid for something else
Kindroid does some things better than anything else in this category, and it is fair to say so. Its memory tools let you read and edit what your companion keeps, and if you enjoy shaping a companion in detail, few rivals go as deep. If that is why you signed up, a cheaper plan may be the better answer than leaving.

Kindroid cancellation questions
How do I cancel my Kindroid subscription?
Cancel where you paid. On the web, open Settings, then Billing, at kindroid.ai. On iPhone, open Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Kindroid. On Android, open Google Play, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Deleting the app stops nothing. Access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
Does Kindroid give refunds?
