How much does Kindroid cost?

$13.99 a month on Kindroid's website or $15.99 a month through the App Store or Google Play. The yearly plan is $139.99 on the web and $159.99 in the app, and three months is $37.99 or $42.99. Those are Kindroid's own figures, from its help centre article on subscriptions, and the app column matched Apple's US listing to the cent on 16 September 2026.

Kindroid explains the gap itself: prices are slightly lower on the web because processing fees are lower there than in the app stores, and it recommends subscribing on the web for flexibility. On the yearly plan the web saves you $20.00. On monthly billing it saves $24.00 over twelve months.

Subscription status belongs to your login, not your device, so a web subscription works in the app. What you cannot do is move a running subscription between the web, iOS and Android. Kindroid says you have to let it run out and resubscribe on the other platform, which matters if you are about to buy a year inside the app.

If you only remember one number, remember $139.99. That is the cheapest way to hold Kindroid for a year, and it is the figure to compare against the rest of the category.

Kindroid Ultra vs MAX: the add-ons stack, and Kindroid says so

Ultra and MAX do not replace the standard subscription. They sit on top of it, and Kindroid's help centre says so directly: each tier is a separate monthly add-on that builds on the level below, Ultra requires the standard subscription, and MAX requires both the standard subscription and Ultra.

That settles the question this page used to leave open. With a monthly standard plan, Kindroid gives the total monthly cost itself: $38.98 on the web or $44.98 in the app with Ultra, and $98.97 on the web or $113.97 in the app with MAX. Over twelve months MAX comes to $1,187.64 on the web and $1,367.64 in the app. Add-ons have no 3-month or yearly option, so there is no discount for committing.

Two rules in the same article are worth reading before you buy either. First, the add-ons are not open to everyone: Kindroid limits them to active users with significant chatting and calling history. Second, cancelling in the wrong order costs money. If you are on MAX and cancel Ultra, Kindroid says you keep paying for MAX while your service drops to the Ultra level. And if the standard subscription lapses, you are on the free tier even while an add-on is still active.

Kindroid describes the higher tiers as priced to cover the cost of serving longer context rather than to make a profit. What you are buying is memory capacity, chiefly context length, on the latest model.

What Kindroid costs over a year at every tier

Companion apps are bought monthly and paid for annually, so the twelve-month number is the one that should drive the decision.

On the standard subscription, twelve monthly payments come to $167.88 on the web and $191.88 in the app. Four quarterly payments come to $151.96 and $171.96. One yearly payment is $139.99 and $159.99. The yearly plan saves 16.6 percent against monthly billing on both platforms, which is a modest discount by the standards of this category.

Ultra and MAX have no yearly option, and they stack. With a monthly standard plan, a year with Ultra comes to $467.76 on the web or $539.76 in the app, and a year with MAX comes to $1,187.64 or $1,367.64.

Credits are extra on top of all of it. Paid selfie credits cost $0.10 to $0.12 each on the web and $0.11 to $0.14 in the app, depending on pack size, and extra audio is $11.99 or $14.99 per 500,000 characters, which Kindroid estimates at about 500 minutes. Kindroid does publish what a subscription includes before you buy any of that: one million complimentary audio credits a month and a selfie cap ten times the free tier's.

Correction: Kindroid does publish its prices

On 6 and 8 September 2026 this page said Kindroid publishes no prices a shopper can read without installing the app. That was wrong, and we would rather show the mistake than quietly delete it.

What we checked then still holds as far as it goes. kindroid.ai/pricing and kindroid.ai/plans both returned 404, and an invented control URL on the same domain also returned 404, so those two pages genuinely do not exist. We also found Kindroid's help article on in-app purchases, but in our reads it rendered in JavaScript and never showed its text, and we concluded the prices were not readable in public.

What we found on 16 September 2026: Kindroid's help centre serves its articles from a public endpoint, and requesting the subscriptions article returned its full text without signing in, while an invented article name returned 404, which is a passing control. The article carries its own edit date, 7 July 2026, so the prices were already published when we wrote that they were not. The same articles open in a normal browser at kindroid.ai/v2/docs/subscriptions and kindroid.ai/v2/docs/in-app-purchases.

The lesson is the one we apply to vendors: a page that fails to load for you is evidence about your request, not about whether the document exists. The web prices other sites quoted, which we declined to print, turned out to be correct.

Kindroid pricing vs Nomi pricing, both read on the same day

The comparison worth making is with Nomi, because the two apps are the closest thing this category has to direct rivals on memory depth, and because their entry price is identical to the cent.

Both charge $15.99 a month in the app, although Kindroid is $13.99 on its own website. Then they diverge sharply. Nomi's annual plan is $99.99. Kindroid's is $159.99 in the app. That is $60.00 a year for the same nominal starting price, and it comes from how deep each vendor discounts the commitment: Nomi's annual plan is 47.9 percent below twelve monthly payments, Kindroid's is 16.6 percent below.

Nomi also lists a cheaper entry point Kindroid has no equivalent of, a Launch Plan at $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Kindroid goes the other way and lists two tiers above its entry plan that Nomi does not have at all. So Nomi's list is cheaper at the bottom and Kindroid's is far more expensive at the top.

Both sell consumable currency on top of the subscription. Nomi calls them Nomi Credits and sells them in five packs from $4.99 to $99.99. Kindroid splits its into selfie credits and audio credits, plus companion slots sold separately. Kindroid's help centre states what its subscription includes, one million audio credits a month and a selfie cap ten times the free tier's. We have not found an equivalent statement from Nomi about how many credits its plans include.

Two more things came out of re-reading both listings on 8 September 2026. The first is a coincidence that makes the arithmetic easy to hold onto: Nomi's quarterly plan is $39.99, so paying Nomi by the quarter for a year costs $159.96, and Kindroid's annual plan costs $159.99. Four cents apart. If you are on Nomi's quarterly billing you are spending Kindroid-annual money on the app with the cheaper annual price.

The second is not a price at all, but it belongs in the decision. Apple stamps a most-recent-release date on every listing. Kindroid's current iOS build is dated 18 August 2026. Nomi's is dated 31 March 2026, more than four months earlier, and both were still the current builds when we re-read the listings on 16 September 2026. What you buy with a companion subscription is a year of somebody continuing to work on the model behind it, and two apps asking the same $15.99 to start are not the same purchase when one shipped last month and the other has been quiet since spring. Read that as a question rather than a verdict: a quiet listing can mean server-side work that never needs a new binary.

Why some sites quote $13.99 for Kindroid and others $15.99

Both numbers are right. $13.99 is Kindroid's monthly price when you subscribe on its website, and $15.99 is the price through the App Store or Google Play. Most roundups quote one of them without saying which, and that is how two honest sources end up looking like they disagree.

We previously refused to print the web price because we could not read it ourselves. We can now, from Kindroid's own help centre, so both are on this page with their source and date.

What that means for you: if you subscribe on an iPhone, you are charged the App Store figure. If you are happy to subscribe in a browser, the web price is lower on every plan, every add-on and every credit pack, and Kindroid itself recommends the web. Decide before you start a subscription in the app, because a running subscription cannot be moved between platforms.

For app prices, open the Kindroid listing on Apple's US App Store, scroll to the Information block near the bottom of the page, and expand In-App Purchases. You will see ten rows. If your storefront is not the United States you will see a different currency and possibly different products.

One warning if you script this rather than read it. An App Store page carries a recommended-apps carousel and a large embedded data payload further down, and a plain text search for a price will return numbers belonging to other apps. Take prices only from the Information block that names the seller, Beautifully Incorporated.

If any of these numbers has changed by the time you read this, the source is right and we are stale.
