Chub AI Subscription: Mars Price and Crypto Pay

The short answer: Chub AI sells one subscription, Mars, at $20 a month on the web, with unlimited use of its own language models, voice and image generation for one person. Chub's own subscription page says the web checkout is crypto-only, and pressing Subscribe emails you a payment link instead of opening a card form. The same page code shows $24.99 when Chub runs as its iOS app, where Apple takes the payment. There is no annual plan, so a year of Mars on the web costs $240. Chub's terms, last updated 15 May 2026, say it "does not offer refunds unless explicitly granted". Every figure here was read on 25 September 2026 from chub.ai's own code, its Terms of Service and docs.chub.ai.

Chub does not have a pricing page in the usual sense. Its documentation site lists 18 pages in its own sitemap and none of them is about pricing, and chub.ai itself is a single-page app that returns the same empty shell for /subscription as for an invented address we requested as a control. The subscription page, its pricing card and its FAQ only exist inside the JavaScript the site sends to your browser, which is where we read them. Chub AI subscription price: what Mars costs and includes

Chub describes the tier in one sentence on the subscription page: "Mars is Chub's first subscriber tier, granting unlimited access for one person to our largest models, for $20 a month." Its documentation agrees: "A Mars subscription is $20 a month with unlimited messaging." The pricing card lists four things Mars unlocks:

• Unlimited access to all of Chub's language models, including Soji 1.6T with a 60K context.
• Unlimited voice.
• Unlimited multimedia generation.
• Early access to new models.

A fifth line, "Access to any future models", carries a question-mark icon instead of a tick, so treat it as intent rather than a promise. An active subscriber's account screen also says "Your Mars subscription gives you access to Mercury also", so Mars includes Chub's older Mercury tier and there is nothing extra to buy on top.

The $24.99 iOS figure is the same tier at a 25 percent premium, the usual cost of an app store taking its cut. How much does Chub AI cost per year?

$240 on the web and $299.88 through the iOS app, because Mars is sold monthly only. There is no annual discount for committing to a year, which is unusual in this category. For comparison, the plans on the Gals.ai pricing page run from $108 a year for Hello to $468 a year for Soulmate, each billed yearly, with a month-to-month price on every plan too.

The products are not the same shape, and the price is not the only thing to compare. Mars buys unlimited access to a large character platform and its models. Gals.ai Sweetheart buys one companion who texts you first, remembers you and has unlimited texting, and Soulmate adds voice calls.

Why Chub AI takes crypto only

Chub answers this itself, under the heading "Why Crypto-Only?" on its subscription page: "The primary sources of censorship pressure for most websites are credit card companies and payment processors. By not using them, we are able to stay free of that pressure permanently."

That follows from what Chub is. It builds uncensored models, and card networks have pushed adult and uncensored platforms hard on content. Taking crypto removes that lever. The cost lands on the buyer: you need a wallet, you need to buy crypto first if you do not hold any, and crypto payments are generally final once they confirm, which matters when the terms already say refunds are discretionary.

Chub's page code does still contain a handler that processes PayPal payment confirmations. The page itself says crypto-only, though, and we could not see PayPal offered anywhere in the checkout flow, so do not count on it. That is the honest answer to the people typing "chub ai subscription paypal".

Chub AI subscription not working: the emailed link

This is the most common complaint in the searches around Chub's subscription, and the page code explains it. When you press Subscribe on the web, Chub asks its billing server for a checkout address and then shows one message: "A subscription link has been sent to your email address." It also tries to open that link in a new tab, which a pop-up blocker can stop without telling you.

If nothing seems to happen, work through this in order:

1. Check the spam and promotions folders of the email on your Chub account. The link is the checkout.
2. Allow pop-ups for chub.ai and press Subscribe again, so the new tab can open.
3. Confirm you are logged in. The page shows "You must be logged in to subscribe" and sends you to register if it cannot find your account.
4. If you paid and your account still shows no subscription, keep the payment details. If you paid in Bitcoin, you can look the transaction up on-chain to confirm it confirmed before you contact Chub.

After a successful payment, the page tells the billing server the payment went through and your account flips to subscribed. Your account screen then shows an active-subscription message and tells you there is nothing else to set up.

Is the Chub AI subscription worth it?

It is worth it if you use Chub heavily for character roleplay, want its largest models without managing API keys, and are comfortable paying in crypto. $20 a month for unlimited use of its largest model, Soji 1.6T, plus voice and image generation, with nothing metered on top, is a fair deal for that person, and Chub's definition of unlimited is plain: "Unlimited for a single user, similar to Netflix."

It is a poor fit if the crypto checkout is the obstacle, if you would rather pay once a year for a discount, or if what you actually want is a companion rather than a platform. Chub's characters answer when you write to them. They do not message you first, and there is no single ongoing relationship that builds up memory of you across weeks unless you set up lorebooks and prompts to do it. How to cancel a Chub AI subscription

On the web, open the Subscription page in your Chub account. An active subscriber sees a Cancel button. After you press it, the page reads "Your subscription will end at the end of this period (you have cancelled it)." Take a screenshot of that line and keep it.

If you subscribed through the iOS app, the payment went through Apple, so cancel in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.

Chub's Terms of Service spell out what happens next: "If you decide to cancel your subscription then you will not be charged for your next month's subscription and your access to the Subscription-Based Services will be revoked at the end of the active period." You keep what you paid for until the period ends, and nothing is refunded for the unused part.
