The short answer: Janitor AI is free to use, and Janitor+ is the paid upgrade. On Apple's US store on 29 October 2026 Janitor+ cost $12.99 a month or $99.00 a year. The help centre says it gives you five times more context for better memory, priority replies, monthly swipes with its best models, a golden username and comment react emojis. The free tier keeps unlimited chats and a context window of around 9k tokens. Monthly for a year costs $155.88, so the annual plan is $56.88 cheaper if you will really stay twelve months.
Most pages on this question are subscription trackers and review sites repeating each other. We went to the source: the Janitor AI help centre FAQ on its subscription (updated 25 June 2026) and the Janitor listing on the US App Store, where the in-app purchases sit next to the seller name JanitorAI, INC and an 18+ age rating. Using Janitor AI costs nothing. The help centre says the free tier includes unlimited chats with millions of bots, access to standard chat models and a context limit of around 9k tokens, and promises a free option will always exist. Janitor+ is the only paid plan we found, and Apple lists two prices for it.

Apple shows every price an app can charge, not the one you will be offered, and the web price can differ. The Janitor website blocked our request, so we could not read what it charges on the web, where payments go through Stripe. If you pay on the web, trust the number on your own checkout screen.
What does Janitor+ actually buy you?
Mostly a bigger memory window and a shorter queue. Context is how much of the conversation the model can see at once. Around 9k tokens is a few thousand words, and once a chat is longer than that, the oldest messages fall out of view. Five times more context lets a character keep far more of the story in front of it before it forgets.
That is useful for long roleplay with one bot. It is not the same as a companion remembering you across weeks. Context is a window on the current chat, and we found no Janitor AI article describing a feature that carries your life details from one chat to the next on its own. Its own guides describe managing chat memory by hand through summaries and token budgets.
Is Janitor+ worth it?
It depends on how you use the site. If you roleplay in long single chats and hit the memory wall, 5x context is the exact thing you would pay for, and the annual plan at $99.00 is the sensible way to buy it. If you mostly try many different bots and chat briefly, the free tier already covers that and the upgrade buys you speed and cosmetics.

How do you stop paying for Janitor+?
Cancel where you paid. On the website that is Settings, Billing, Manage Subscription, which opens the Stripe billing page. In the iPhone or Android app only the App Store or Google Play can cancel, and the help centre says app subscriptions cannot be cancelled from the web.
