Talkie costs $49.99 a year on Apple's US store against $99 for PolyBuzz Standard on the web, so its cheapest year is half the price. PolyBuzz is the only one of the two that sells a memory tier, Permanent Memory on Ultimate at $29.90 a month or $299 a year.

The short answer: Talkie is the cheaper app for a full year and PolyBuzz is the one that sells a memory upgrade. On Apple's US store on 31 October 2026 Talkie cost $9.99 for one month or $49.99 for one year, and Talkie+ Pro $24.99 a month. PolyBuzz charged $9.90, $19.90 and $29.90 a month in the iPhone app when we last read it, and $99, $199 and $299 a year on its website. Talkie's year is half PolyBuzz's cheapest yearly plan. Only PolyBuzz's top tier claims permanent memory.
Searches for this pairing return mostly roundup sites that call both apps free and give each a score out of ten. Neither is free once you want more than a taste, and both publish their own prices. For Talkie we re-read Apple's US listing on 31 October 2026, where the in-app purchases sit next to the seller name SUBSUP PTE. LTD. and an 18+ rating, and its terms, which we read on 14 October. For PolyBuzz we use what we read first-hand on its own membership page and Apple's listing in September, plus the check below on whether that listing still exists.
How much does Talkie cost compared with PolyBuzz?
Both apps sell a monthly plan at almost the same price and then split. Talkie sells one yearly plan on the iPhone at about 42 cents on the dollar. PolyBuzz sells its yearly plans on the web only, at ten months of the monthly price.
| Plan | Talkie (Apple US) | PolyBuzz |
|---|---|---|
| Entry, monthly | $9.99 (1 Month) | $9.90 (Poly Standard) |
| Entry, yearly | $49.99 (1 Year) | $99 (web only) |
| Middle, monthly | No middle tier listed | $19.90 (Poly Premium) |
| Top, monthly | $24.99 (Talkie+ Pro) | $29.90 (Poly Ultimate) |
| Top, yearly | No yearly Pro listed | $299 (web only) |
| Weekly plan | None listed | $4.99 (Poly Standard Weekly) |
Apple shows every price an app can charge, not the one you will be offered, and web prices can differ. Treat the Talkie column as Apple's US list on 31 October 2026 and the PolyBuzz column as what we read on 17 September 2026.
What does a full year cost on each app?
Paying month to month for twelve months is where the two lists separate. Talkie's monthly plan comes to $119.88 over a year, so its $49.99 yearly plan saves $69.89, or 58 percent. PolyBuzz Standard comes to $118.80 monthly against $99 yearly, a saving of $19.80, and only if you buy on the website.
| Twelve months | Talkie | PolyBuzz |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan, month to month | $119.88 | $118.80 |
| Entry plan, billed yearly | $49.99 | $99 |
| Top plan, month to month | $299.88 | $358.80 |
| Top plan, billed yearly | Not sold | $299 |
So the cheapest way to run Talkie for a year costs $49.01 less than the cheapest way to run PolyBuzz. At the top end the gap closes: Talkie+ Pro paid monthly is $299.88 a year, 88 cents more than PolyBuzz Ultimate on the web. If you want the premium tier, you are paying about $300 either way.
Which one is better for memory?
Neither publishes a number for how much it remembers, so the honest comparison is what each one says it sells. PolyBuzz's own membership table gives Poly Standard and Poly Premium the same Long Memory and reserves Permanent Memory for Poly Ultimate only, which is a $20 a month step up from Standard. Talkie's own FAQ is blunter. It says the AI's memory capacity is technically limited, so older conversations are forgotten, and we found no paid tier that it sells as a memory upgrade.
That makes the buying decision simple. If you want a character that keeps what you told it for weeks and you are prepared to pay for it, PolyBuzz Ultimate is the only tier of the two that claims to. If you mostly want variety and voice, Talkie's entry plan costs half as much. Our comparison of companion apps by how much they remember shows where each of the main apps stops.
Can you still buy PolyBuzz on iPhone?
Not through the listing we read. PolyBuzz's App Store page (app ID 6449190344) returned a not-found page in Apple's US store on 19 October 2026, the same answer an invented app ID gets, and it returned the same page again on 31 October. The Poly prices in Apple's list were read in September and are kept as a record. PolyBuzz is still on Google Play and its website, so a new yearly plan means paying on the web, and the web is also the only place PolyBuzz sells yearly at all.
Talkie is still listed, now under the name Talkie Lab - AI Playground, version 2.62.000, with the same prices as when we read it on 14 October.
How do you cancel each one?
The cancel path follows where you paid. Talkie's terms say paid subscriptions are cancelled only through the marketplace you bought on, with no partial-month refunds, and they describe the plans as paid in monthly installments even though Apple lists a yearly SKU. Check your first receipt before you assume what you bought. Our guide to cancelling a Talkie subscription has the steps. A PolyBuzz plan bought on the website is cancelled from your account there, and one bought in the iPhone app is cancelled in iPhone Settings under Subscriptions. Our PolyBuzz pricing page has the full list.
How Gals.ai compares on price
Gals.ai has no weekly plans, coins or gems, and memory is part of every plan. Hello is $9 a month billed yearly ($108) or $12 month to month. Sweetheart adds voice notes at $19 yearly or $24 monthly, and Soulmate adds voice calls at $39 yearly or $49 monthly. She texts you first and messages are never counted. It is a different product from a character library, so it suits a person who wants one companion who knows them, not hundreds of bots.
| Per year | Talkie | PolyBuzz | Gals.ai |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry plan, billed yearly | $49.99 | $99 (web) | $108 |
| Entry plan, month to month | $119.88 | $118.80 | $144 |
| Memory on the entry plan | Limited, per its FAQ | Long Memory | Remembers you across conversations |
| Texts you first | Not described | Not described | Yes |
| Library of characters | Yes | Yes | One companion at a time |
Talkie wins on yearly price and on browsing characters. PolyBuzz wins if you want its permanent memory tier. Gals.ai is the fit when you want memory on every plan and a companion who starts the conversation. If you are stacking several of these at once, a receipt tracker that flags recurring charges shows what the apps really add up to over a year.
