How to cancel SpicyChat on the website

Most SpicyChat subscriptions are billed on the web, because SpicyChat has had no App Store app since August 2025 and its Android app is a direct download. So for most people the steps are these.

Sign in at spicychat.ai and select your profile picture in the top right corner to open Profile Settings. Choose Manage Subscription. SpicyChat does not hold the cancel button itself; Manage Subscription sends you to the payment platform that bills you, and you cancel there. SpicyChat's subscribe page says you can cancel up to 24 hours before the current period ends, so leave yourself a day. Your premium benefits continue until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account drops to the free tier.

Two things to check before you close the tab. First, that the platform shows the subscription as cancelled, not just the SpicyChat page, because the platform holds the payment. Second, that you are on the account that pays. If you made a second account with a different email, the subscription lives on whichever one you used at checkout.

If you get as far as cancelling and the reason was a payment problem rather than the product, read the next section first. For a few people, cancelling is the expensive option.

Cancelling SpicyChat when you have a pre-September price

On September 8, 2026 SpicyChat raised all three tiers. Monthly Get a Taste went from $5.00 to $5.95, True Supporter from $14.95 to $19.95 and I'm All In from $24.95 to $29.95. The annual plans went from $50.00, $149.95 and $249.95 to $60.00, $199.95 and $299.95.

SpicyChat's Pricing Update FAQ says anyone who subscribed before that date keeps renewing at the old price "as long as you keep it active and don't change plans". It then answers the question this page is about. If you cancelled but the subscription has not expired yet, you can reactivate before the end of the current period and keep your existing price. "Once it fully expires, the price can't be restored."

That turns cancelling into a decision with a number on it. Let a monthly True Supporter plan lapse and come back later, and you pay $5.00 a month more, $60.00 a year. An annual True Supporter who lapses and returns pays $199.95 instead of $149.95. Upgrading, downgrading or switching between monthly and annual has the same effect, because the FAQ treats any plan change as a move to current pricing.

The same FAQ adds a second trap. If a renewal payment fails, SpicyChat retries a few times and then lets the subscription expire, and an expired subscription loses its old price just like a cancelled one. If your card was replaced, update it before the renewal date rather than after.

So the practical rule is simple. If you are sure you are leaving, cancel. If you only want a break, cancelling early is fine, because you can still reactivate before the period ends, but put the end date in your calendar.

The iPhone app named SpicyChat is not run by SpicyChat

SpicyChat's documentation is direct about this. Its iOS App Notice, dated August 27, 2025, says Apple removed the SpicyChat iOS app from the App Store, and its Mobile Apps page says SpicyChat "does not have a native iOS app on Apple App Store" and recommends adding the website to your home screen instead. Subscriptions bought through the old iOS app stopped renewing after their next scheduled renewal date.

The US App Store nonetheless lists an app called AI Chat Bot, SpicyChat. We read its listing on 15 October 2026. The seller is NADU SINGLE MEMBER P.C., the app was first released on May 18, 2026, it is rated 18+, and its In-App Purchases block shows two items, Virtual Chat Premium at $5.99 and Chat Premium at $5.99. Its description says the free version allows up to 3 messages a day with one character. SpicyChat's terms name NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal as the company that runs SpicyChat, with subsidiaries in Delaware and Cyprus, and none of them is the seller on that listing.

We are not saying the app is a scam; we have no evidence about how it works. What matters for cancelling is narrower. If your iPhone shows a subscription to that app, SpicyChat cannot see it and Manage Subscription on spicychat.ai will not stop it. Cancel it in iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions, and ask Apple, not SpicyChat, about a refund.

SpicyChat refund policy, and when you can actually get money back

SpicyChat's Refund Policy, marked Last updated October 7th, 2026, opens with the line that decides most cases: fees "are non-refundable once the Login details have been used". Not using the membership is not grounds for a refund, and the company "does not provide refunds or credits for any partial-month Membership periods". The subscribe page's own FAQ says refunds happen only under exceptional circumstances.

The policy then sets out three practical limits. When a refund is issued it goes back to the payment method you used, never by cash or check, and within ten days of your exchange with SpicyChat's Client Relations department. The policy does not apply when the payment method cannot carry a refund, and it names cryptocurrency as an example. And for payments through providers such as Apple, the provider processes the refund, so SpicyChat says it cannot guarantee the outcome.

In practice that means: cancel first, so no further charge lands, then ask for a refund as a separate request. The Terms and Conditions give [email protected] as the address for billing disputes. A refund request after you have used the account is likely to be refused under the policy as written, so the realistic cases are a double charge, a charge after a cancellation the platform confirmed, or a payment you did not make.

Deleting your SpicyChat account is not the same as cancelling

SpicyChat lets you delete an account from your profile: scroll to the bottom, open Advanced, select Delete Account and confirm. Its documentation warns that deletion is permanent and the account cannot be restored, though you can register again later with the same email.

What the documentation does not say is that deleting the account stops the billing. The payment lives with the platform that charges you, not with your SpicyChat profile, so the safe order is to cancel in Manage Subscription first, confirm it on the payment platform, and only then delete. If you delete first, you may lose the very page that links you to the platform.

Think about what you lose, too. SpicyChat's Memory Manager, where your characters' saved memories live, is available only to Get a Taste, True Supporter and I'm All In subscribers, so even a plain cancellation takes it away when the period ends. The documentation does not say whether stored memories come back if you resubscribe, so if a long story matters to you, copy the key details somewhere before you go.

One company behind SpicyChat, PixelChat and SecretMate

The legal pages spicychat.ai ships in its website code contain three full sets of documents, one each for SpicyChat.AI, PixelChat.AI and SecretMate.AI, and the site picks which to show by brand. The three Refund Policies are word for word the same apart from the name, all marked Last updated October 7th, 2026, and the three Terms and Conditions all carry Updated at July 23, 2026. SpicyChat's terms name NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal as its operator.

This matters when you are cancelling because a statement line does not always say which product it is for. NextDay AI's charges can appear under an NDAI name, and if you or someone in your household tried more than one of these sites, each one is its own subscription. Cancelling SpicyChat does not cancel PixelChat. Check each site you signed up to, using the same Manage Subscription route.

What to use after SpicyChat, if you want one companion

SpicyChat is a large community library of characters built for roleplay, and if that is what you enjoyed, cancelling to save money may be all you need. As a control, an invented page on docs.spicychat.ai returned a 404 on 15 October 2026, so the pages that answered are real documents.
