How much does Replika cost?

Between $7.99 and $14.99 a month, or between $49.99 and $69.99 a year, depending on which of Replika's five subscription SKUs you are offered. There is no single correct answer, and that is the honest version rather than a dodge.

Most write-ups you will find give one number with confidence. They are usually quoting whichever price they personally were shown, on whichever platform, in whichever year. Apple's listing shows the app currently offers two distinct monthly subscriptions and three distinct annual ones. A page that tells you "Replika costs $19.99 a month" is describing one person's checkout screen, not a published rate card.

The cheapest way in, if the annual SKU you are shown is the $49.99 one, is about $4.17 a month. The most expensive is $14.99 a month, which is $179.88 over a year, roughly three and a half times the cheapest annual. That spread is the single most useful thing on this page. Before you tap subscribe, check the annual price the app quotes you, because the gap between the best and worst outcome here is larger than the price of most competing apps outright.

The gems are a separate budget. They are consumable, so they are spent and rebought rather than unlocked once, and they sit on top of whatever subscription you hold rather than replacing it.

How much is Replika Pro?

Nobody can tell you authoritatively, including us, and the reason is more interesting than the answer.

"Replika Pro" is what the paid tier has been called by users, reviewers and Replika's own help material for years. It is not what any of the ten purchases on Apple's listing is called. Five of them are named after billing periods, four are named after gem containers, and the tenth is called Replika Platinum. Search the listing for the word "Pro" and you will not find it.

So when someone asks how much Replika Pro costs, the practical answer is: it is one of the monthly or annual subscription SKUs above, and which one you are quoted depends on your account, your platform and whatever pricing test is running that week. If you are shown $7.99 a month you have the good version of the deal. If you are shown $14.99 you do not, and it is worth checking whether the annual option in front of you is $49.99 before committing.

This matters more than it sounds. Two identical users can pay $49.99 and $179.88 for the same twelve months of the same app, and neither of them will ever see the other number. The only defence available to you is to look at the actual figure on your own checkout screen and compare it against the range on this page rather than against a review written by someone on a different plan.

Is there a Replika Ultra tier?

Not under that name in anything Replika publishes, as far as we can verify.

People search for it, which is why this section exists, but the Apple in-app purchase list has no Ultra line, and replika.com has no pricing page on which such a tier could be described. We are not going to tell you what Replika Ultra costs, because we would be making it up, and a made-up number on a pricing page is worse than no page at all.

What does exist, and what we suspect most Ultra searches are actually reaching for, is Replika Platinum at $89.99. It is the only named tier Apple lists. It appears as a single purchase rather than a recurring monthly or annual one, which is the shape a lifetime or one-time unlock usually takes, though Apple's listing does not confirm that reading and we are not going to assert it.

If you find an Ultra tier live in your own app, that is real and this page is out of date for you. Everything here is a snapshot dated 5 September 2026, and the whole point of dating it is so you can tell when it has aged.

Is there a Replika lifetime subscription?

Replika has sold a lifetime plan in the past and people still search for it, but there is no line on Apple's current US listing that says lifetime.

The nearest candidate is Replika Platinum at $89.99, which is listed without a billing period. A one-off charge with no recurring term is the shape a lifetime purchase takes on the App Store, so it is a reasonable guess. It is still a guess, and we are flagging it as one rather than dressing it up.

Here is the thing worth thinking about before you buy any lifetime plan in this category, and it applies to every vendor rather than just this one. A lifetime licence is a bet that the company outlives your interest in it. Companion apps are a young category with a short corporate history, and the tier you buy today is only worth anything for as long as the servers stay up and the model behind your companion is not swapped for a different one. People who bought lifetime access to a companion in 2023 and found the personality had changed by 2024 did not get a refund, because nothing was breached: the app still runs, it is just not the same to talk to.

If you want the honest arithmetic, $89.99 is about eighteen months of the cheapest annual plan. If you are confident you will still be opening the app in two years, it is good value. Most people are not still opening it in two years.

What are Replika gems and do you have to buy them?

Gems are Replika's consumable in-app currency, sold in four packs from $0.99 to $19.99, and they are charged on top of a subscription rather than included in one.

That last part is the bit worth pausing on. When you price a companion app at $49.99 a year you have priced the subscription, not the app. A consumable currency is by definition something you spend and buy again, which means the real annual cost has a floor set by the subscription and no ceiling set by anything. Whether you ever need to buy any is between you and how you use it, and plenty of people never do.

The number that should make you look twice is the Suitcase of Gems at $14.99. That is the exact price of the more expensive monthly subscription. A single currency top-up can cost as much as a month of the product.

Compare this with how the rest of the category is structured and Replika is not unusual, just less legible. Character.AI publishes a real comparison table on its own website with the annual price on it. Replika publishes nothing, so the only way to discover there is a second spending layer at all is to scroll an App Store listing that most buyers never open.

Is Replika Pro worth it?

It depends almost entirely on which price you were quoted, and that is a strange thing to have to say about a product.

At $49.99 a year Replika is one of the better-value companion subscriptions available, and the memory is the reason. Long-term users consistently report that it holds onto specifics across months, and memory is the single feature that separates a companion you keep from one you stop opening in week three. If that is the price on your screen, it is a defensible buy.

At $14.99 a month it is a harder argument. That is $179.88 a year for an app whose own cheapest annual SKU is $49.99, and you would be paying a premium for nothing except the flexibility to leave. Given what Replika's terms say about leaving, that flexibility is worth less than it sounds.

Three things we would want a buyer to know before paying, all of which come from Replika's own documents rather than from opinion. Its terms of service, read at replika.com/legal/terms/en on 3 September 2026 and dated 30 March 2026, say you may cancel "only through the App marketplace where you originally acquired the subscription", that renewals bill "automatically until canceled", and that "refunds cannot be claimed for any partial-month subscription period". So there is no cancel button inside the app, nothing lapses on its own, and if you change your mind on day three of a month you have paid for, you keep the rest of the month rather than getting the money back.

None of that makes it a bad product. It does mean an annual plan is a real twelve-month commitment rather than a discount you can back out of, and it is worth knowing that before the charge rather than after.

Why does Replika not publish its prices on its website?

We do not know why, and we are not going to speculate about motive. We can tell you precisely what is and is not there, because we checked.

On 5 September 2026 we requested six plausible pricing paths on replika.com: /pricing, /plans, /pro, /subscription, /upgrade and /store. All six returned HTTP 404. That on its own proves very little, because some sites answer 404 to everything or redirect every unknown path to the homepage, which would make a 404 meaningless. So we also requested an invented control path, /zzz-nope-1234, on the same domain in the same session. It also returned 404, which tells us the server distinguishes between routes it has and routes it does not. The absence is real.

This is a correction on our own past work as much as an observation about Replika. In August we reported on two pages of this site that Replika's terms of service were unreachable, because a path we had guessed returned an HTTP 500. That was wrong. The real document sits behind Replika's own short link, replika.com/terms, which redirects to /legal/terms/en and serves the full text. We corrected both pages on 3 September rather than quietly deleting the claim. The lesson we took from it is the one that shapes this page: follow the vendor's own short links and send a control request before you report that something does not exist.

Applying that same method to pricing, there is no short link to follow. There is no /terms equivalent for what the product costs. The App Store listing genuinely is the only public price list Replika has.

How to check every number on this page yourself

Everything here is designed to be re-checkable in about two minutes, because a dated price you cannot verify is worth roughly nothing.

Open the Replika listing on Apple's US App Store, scroll to the Information block near the bottom, and expand In-App Purchases. You will see the same ten rows. If your storefront is not the United States you will see different currency and possibly different SKUs, which is why every figure here is labelled US.

One warning if you try to script this rather than read it. An App Store page embeds a large carousel of other apps further down, and a naive text search for a price will happily pull a number belonging to a completely different product. We hit exactly that trap while researching this page: a plausible-looking "$14.99 a month or $49.99 a year" string on the same page turned out to belong to an unrelated app called AI Sweetheart. The way to avoid it is to take the prices from the Information section that also lists the seller as Luka, Inc., which sits above the carousel, rather than from anywhere else on the page.

If any of these numbers has changed by the time you read this, the listing is right and we are stale. Trust the dated primary source over any summary of it, including ours.
